General Thoughts

  • Probably assume that even if shotgun starts return, we will not have lunch service this year. We will play, turn in cards and go home
    • Dan Kirkwood will post scores
    • Dan Kirkwood will scan all scorecards and have available for review on the website
    • Dan Kirkwood will collect winnings (in terms of golf balls) and pass out at later events
  • so far some clubs are still limited to 50; others are not
    • Possible to have some clubs host 100 and sone host 2 days of 50
    • IF 50, 2-day back to back probably will not work; maybe 1 week apart?

Brookhaven Country Club

  • No shotgun starts. All play is by group tee-time and all play starts on hole #1.
  • One person to a cart.
  • Maintain social distancing at all times.
  • No socializing in groups larger than 8 before or after the event.
  • Arrive 15 – 20 minutes before Tee Time and leave shortly after finishing play.
  • After play, scorecards will be deposited into a closed container with a slot.
  • No waiting for scoring to complete; you will be notified later.

Canyon Creek Country Club

I talked with our pro Heather Stewart this morning

Bottom line we can accommodate a 50 person event right now.  Also we could do it over 2 Tuesdays to give all teams a chance to play CC.

Things are changing so rapidly that the State may allow shotgun starts by the end of June, who knows.  As of now we would have tee times and probably go off the front and back with the 50 players.

All other social distancing rules would still apply until told differently.

I am in favor of playing all ten events and believe I can field 10 guys per event.

I am not putting out to CC team until we have a little bit better handle on this.

Hackberry Creek Country Club

Just talked to our General manager (we do not have a pro at this time.) He informed me that as of June 15th we can do a shotgun with 50 people. Two per cart. Social distancing still in force. We could also do tee times starting on 1 and 10. He would like for us to start at 8 so we can turn the course back to the members asap. He has Monday events starting in August s we need to do this asap at Hackberry.

Lantana Country Club

Have you considered moving our season to the fall?  I know you normally like to get the season completed by Aug/Sept.  but these are such different times that different solutions should be considered.  We will certainly know more about C-19 the longer we delay the start.

Since this seasons schedule is already different I wonder if the captains will care if we start later in the year?

Oakmont Country Club

the major problem I see until we get out of phase 3 is golf carts.  Since social distancing requires on one person per cart, having 50 operable carts may be difficult. I believe we would need to guarantee some people will walk or bring their own carts prior to the tournament.

Additionally, I don’t think blocking off 2 days back-to-back would work for us.  Many members would be upset.

Prestonwood Country Club

Prestonwood would be okay with trying to have split field events but we anticipate scheduling difficulties.  Our tee sheets are filled from 8-5 pretty much every day.  Getting the club to provide a two hour tee time window on days the club is normally open will be a tough sell.  As you requested I have not talked to club management about this proposal.

I suppose you could just play 5 person teams but this limits the number of people who will get an opportunity to play.

No easy answers.

Thorntree Country Club

I talked with pro/gm.  He said he could accommodate the 2 day but could not block all general play ahead of time.

They typically start letting people play at 6:40.

He did say if started 8:30 tee times , he would block 30 minutes in front.  (Example 8:00-8:30)

Timarron Country Club

We suggest playing in your division and we compete accordingly for the championship.   Think it will be difficult to get all the events in for the full field.  Also, we use Golf Genius and can have that up and running if you wish for the scoring.

Our club can’t handle two events as our pro is pressured already in meeting membership tee times.

Trophy Club

Trophy Club is down to one course, the   HOGAN, while they are redoing the greens& tees on The Whitworth. The earliest possible date for a DSI event @ Trophy Club would be mid Sep. And ,as of today, we cannot commit to a date. That being said, Trophy Club DSI team wants to participate and looks forward to whatever can be worked out. I. E split playing D1 on one day D2 to follow.  I’m working with our Director of Golf , Dale Davis and our GM Tim Rose and will update you as details unfold
